Been back in florida for five months.  Building our last home in Gulf Breeze, Florida.  Sold our house in Franklin. I miss the view, not the icy, cold winters.  Love being back by the beach.  Our new house should be finished by the end of May.  I will be very near the water.  Also loving being back near my granddaughter.
Sorry I have been absent on this blog but moving is very time consuming plus I was sick for about a month
with a sinus infection.  An 84 year old lady bought our house in Franklin and she loved it.  I hope she is enjoying the iris and daffodils budding and the asparagus right now.  I miss my garden but I'll have a smaller garden in Florida.  Life is good.  Later. 

Today is Friday all day long.  Friday August 21st.  In seven days my Daddy would have been  100. But he died in 1986 at age 71 of heart and lung failure. Too many years of smoking. I had gotten
tired of blogging.  Just used this link for a comment page. So, I thought, well, why not post.

Our house in the mountains is up for sale. we are planning a move back to Florida.  In the meantime
we are planning a long trip up to Maine. Some cousins are up there now camping and we are hoping
to meet up with them in Kennbunk Maine.  My granddaughter turns seven this October and she
starts first grade. I miss her so much every day.  Another reason why the move back to Florida.
If this house does not sell. We will just buy a really cheap home in Florida and keep this house
for the kids. I would miss this view everyday. But not the winters.

I can't remember when I last updated on here. Doesn't matter as on one even reads it.  So, this
is just for myself. The garden was amazing this year.  Then the rain stopped.  Our area was
almost in a drought.  Asheville and Hendersonville N.C. are listed as in a drought.  Finally
this week we have had rain all week. But we still have a ways to go before the deficit is caught
up.  We went down to Pensacola Fl twice this year. I can't wait to move back.  All my summer
phlox are finished. I can feel Fall waiting in the wings as I see the goldenrod blooming.
Everything seems to speed up lately, seasons, years, days, my age.  Here are a few recent

The Story of Jack and Anne Fuller

When I turned 40 I learned from my Mother that my Dad had had another brother named Jack Fuller. By then my Dad had passed away at 71.  I said, "why didn't Dad ever mention Jack.  Well, my mother said, It was just too painful for Daddy to talk about.  Jack was the second child, and second son of Benjamin and Hazel Fuller.  He was followed a year later by Anne and just after that by a baby boy named Kenneth. But the only ones I ever were told about were Anne and Kenneth.  And so, I began to investigate the story of my Uncle Jack.  I started with those who were still living who could answer my questions, my mother and my aunt Anne.  My Uncle Kenneth remembered nothing of Jack.  He was too young.  It seems my Uncle Jack was unfortunate to be born in a very religious Seventh Day Adventist family. And at around age 6 his mother became ill and went into a hospital in NYC and never came out again. So, since my Father had already left home, and my Father's Dad did not feel able to raise Jack and Anne alone. He sent Jack and Anne to live with their paternal grandparents in Orlando, Florida. The baby Kenneth was temporarily adopted by family God parents.  And so Jack and Anne were schooled in a private Seventh Day Adventist academy in Orlando. At that time known as the Sanitorium.  Jack was very effeminate. His Father could not stand that. He would try and beat
it out of him. When that did not work. He put Jack in a military private school. That is not last long. Jack could not adapt.  Finally my great grandparents Thomas and Anne Fuller put Jack in a mental
hospital in near Tallahassee Florida.  When he was to be released, none of the family would take guardianship. And Jack drowned himself on a hospital picnic outing at Three Rivers in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florida_State_Hospital   I was so sickened that my Uncle's life was
kept hidden like a dirty secret. That I went to visit his grave in the family plot in http://www.greenwood-cemetery.net/about/ and I placed a white rose on Jack's grave. 

Our house up here in the Franklin North Carolina mountains has been on the market for about a month or two.  Lots of lookers but no offers yet.  The view changes hourly, daily, seasonally. Some
days it's blue and smokey. Some days it's pinkish at dusk.  But always beautiful even when foggy.
Our house   We live next to a brand new elementary school. So, if you have kids grades K thru 3 they
can just walk over.  We rarely hear them as we have a bluff between our properties. We do have a
small airport over the forest.  We can watch the small planes or small lear jets land.  I enjoy that.
So, come, buy our house.  We want to move back to Florida to be near our children.  That is the only
reason. 

We took our trip to Glacier National Park. It was awesome.  Came back home the first week of Sept.
We got to visit my new friend Katherine in South Dakota, my brother in Colorado.  Best trip ever.
So sorry I have been absent and not updating the blog. But then no one seems to ever look at it
anyway.  I will add a few photographs from the trip to Glacier for those of you who do not have
a Facebook account.  Take care.  Coming up on my fifth year cancer free.  Making the most of
every day. That is all we have anyway. 

It's August 13 2014.  We sold my Mother's house in Florida.  We went down to Florida for the closing. We had just been there only months before painting the front steps. Now the house is gone. and we are looking for another house in Florida.  Only this one will be on the gulf coast near
Destin or Panama city Beach Florida. Not on the west coast near Jacksonville.  Also, we have decided to sell our home up here in the North Carolina mountains and we had a realtor come by
and walk through.  Waiting for her to get back to us on a price.  Next week we are taking our probably last long trip in our RV. We are going back to Glacier National Park in Montana for the tour that we never got to do in 2010 due to the fact the passes were snowed in, roads were closed and
we never got to see a glacier.  So, hoping August will be a no snow month.

When we came home we had a very magical experience with a baby hummingbird.  I was taking photographs of my wildflower garden and butterflies when I noticed a very small hummingbird just sitting on a zinnia.  Sitting!!  Not hovering, not flying, sitting and drinking nector.  Like a little
buddha.  I thought he or she was ill. As it turned out. It was a baby hummingbird who had barely
learned to fly.  And was a bit wobbly.  What then followed was the most magical hour of my life.
He sat on a flower I held out to him.  He let me take 20 to thirty photographs of him. No fear.
He had no fear.  Alright. That is all the news. Sorry it has been four months since last post.

Back Home in the mountains

We have been back in Franklin N.C. for a month now.  Granddaughter and son visited.  We had a light snow.  Then last two days temperatures below freezing. I had to bring in the hummingbird food each night and put it right back out each morning.  I guess we came home too early.  Next year we wait until May to come back.  I have been eating fresh asparagus. But now I left the rest to seed and make the ferns and make more asparagus for next year.  Too early to plant any vegetables except maybe greens and lettuce which I can't eat.  I could plant Broccoli but it might be too late.  My hummingbird showed up a few days ago when it was spring like and all flowers were blooming. Then we had a horrible freeze, cold front, with high wind.  Blew most of the flowers off the double cherry tree.  Took a lot of the apple blossoms.  I am beginning to dislike winter.  Never thought I would say that.  And I miss the ocean so much.  We had two contracts on our house in Florida that is for sale and both fell through. One could not get bank loan and the other people changed their mind.  Hope it sells soon so we can get a place near the ocean.  Not much else new around here.  There is a bird caught in our roof overhang eave.  We would have to take pieces off to get him out.  They are getting into our attic even. We need to hire someone to screen wherever they are getting in.  Last year this happened also and I had to listen to this poor bird trying to scratch his way out.  Finally my son came to visit and he opened up the gutter eave and out fly a very dehydrated hungry bird.  Hope everyone has
